Computing

It is our intent for the Computing element of our school curriculum to equip our children to participate in a rapidly changing world where work and leisure activities are being increasingly transformed by technology. As technology, in general, is a significant part of everyone’s daily life, it is our intention that children should have an awareness of new technology.

We want our children to gain confidence and practical experiences to enable them to find, explore, analyse, exchange and present information. We want them to develop the skills necessary to be able to use information in an effective way, and to develop a wide range of fundamental skills, knowledge and understanding that will equip them for their future. We intend for our children to develop computing skills which will enable them to be confident, creative and independent learners and it is our intention that children will have opportunity available to allow them to achieve this effectively and safely. We believe that computing is an essential part of the curriculum, being a subject that not only stands alone but should be an integral part of all learning.
