Geography

It is our intent for the Geography element of our school curriculum to inspire pupils with a curiosity and fascination about the world and it's people that will remain with them. We want our children to gain confidence and practical experiences of geographical knowledge, understanding and skills that explain how the Earth’s features at different scales are shaped, interconnected and change over time.

We want each geography topic to enable children to develop geographical skills, knowledge and understanding, within the context of a real place so that children learn about the diverse people and places of the world. We want each of these geography topics to include three or four of the National Curriculum sections within it: locational geography, place knowledge, human  and physical geography and fieldwork.

It is our intent that our geography curriculum should allow children to see and talk in order to share and create experiences with each other. To allow children to take the knowledge to a higher level of explanation, comparison an evaluation.
